Hey guys,
I have been handed a session with out a kick track .
I have toms,Hats, snare and overheads. The kick appears to be the loudest in the floor tom channel and it is also to slightly audible in the overheads .
Any ideas about the best way to go about creating a time aligned clean kick drum track. I use protools and logic.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Tony

What you may want to try is duplicating either the floor tom or OH track (or more likely try both) so as to preserve what’s on the original track, and use the duplicate with Drumagog. Next you will need to use Drumagog’s trigger filter to tune Drumagog’s input to the kick. You may need to try several different types of the notch/lopass options, either to eliminate any higher freqs so only the kick drum is loud enough to trigger Drumagog (and is louder than any other instrument on that track) or “point” the filter at the kick’s fundamental. The track may also benefit from additional filtering to help take out as much of the toms/remaining OH as possible.
