Auria update
Auria update
Hey everyone,
It’s been a while.
I wanted to let you know that I’m back working on Auria!
I also want to be open about why I’ve been away. Auria has been around for a long time, and as a traditional paid app, the economics of continuing development became increasingly difficult. Existing users understandably expect updates, but those updates don’t generate additional revenue, and eventually there weren’t enough new sales to support the amount of development Auria requires. I ended up concentrating my development time on other things.
I know that from the outside the long silence made it look like Auria had been abandoned. I should have communicated better about what was happening.
But Auria hasn’t been forgotten. I’m back in the code now, going through the forum, catching up on the issues that have accumulated, and figuring out where to take things from here.
Obviously I’ve got a lot of catching up to do. iPadOS has moved quite a bit, there are bugs and compatibility issues I need to work through, and I’ve been reading the forum to see what everyone has been running into.
For now I’m concentrating on getting everything stable again before talking about new features or bigger plans.
Thanks to everyone who’s continued using Auria and especially those of you who’ve stuck around here all this time!
More soon.
Rim

Re: Auria update
Thank you - Auria Pro is just too good a program to abandon. I’m so glad that you’re back working on it. There’s things that it can do that differentiate it from Logic Pro and Cubasis and I absolutely need Auria Pro to continue to do serious music production on my iPad Pro. I can understand the issue with sales etc. and I am not a businessman so I have no idea how to go about marketing it etc. but I always tell people I know who use the iPad to support it and will continue to do so.
Re: Auria update
many thanks for the update. Everything seems to run smoothly again. And on a modern (2024) iPad Pro it is on another level with these fast devices. Including the easy transfer of Auria projects with the iPadOS Files app.
This is really fun to work with Auria Pro again.

Re: Auria update
So Rim, now that things are up and active again, what would you prefer as the updated best way to communicate glitches or feature requests? Should we just add to all the old threads, or some other way?
Re: Auria update
This thread is fine. I'll keep checking it. I've got another update in the works, waiting on an Apple review.

Re: Auria update
This is really fantastic!
Loading up some old song for the first time in years, Auria seems to be running butter-smooth on my m5 iPad Pro. No crashes in about an hour of experimentation. I’ll let you know of any issues I run into.
Left a very positive review on the App Store. Thanks for polishing up the ol’ gal: there’s nothing really like Auria on the iPad.

Re: Auria update
I had completely forgotten how efficient the ‘built-in’ PSP and FabFilter effects are compared to their AUV3 counterparts! And having that amazing PSP channel strip just sitting there on every channel…
Since I have all the latest versions of those plugins in AUV3, its not a huge issue, but do you have any plans to uodate/expand your relationship with FabFilter and PSP?
(And going on two hours without a crash, running the “I Only Wanted” demo at 128 samples with Q2, Microwarmer, and L2 on the master bus and never clearing 3% cpu… wow…)

Re: Auria update
The new update with the plugins ins is dope love it! I hope you can get more PSP plug ins in the future they will be what continues to separate you from the bunch. I’ve spoken with them personally and they have no interest in releasing plug ins through iOS so I’m grateful for the ones you were able to get.
Everything is working pretty good on my end. I see you’re fixing the issue when you “X” out of an effect it doesn’t leave until you move the window thanks man.

Re: Auria update and revenue problem
Hi! I think most old time users would gladly make a new 1 time payment or a small subscription to support continuing development - i.e. keeping up with the Apple OS changes (that's got to be one massive headache!!) I "had to" subscribe to Logic Pro for ipad to continue using my ipad for music production. May I suggest undercutting them on the subscription price? Logic Pro may be Pro, does have good features, but Apple's never-ending assumptions about how to find functions is a total inspiration moment destructive barrier. By the time you look up how to find how to do something you could easily find on Auria Pro 10 years ago you just want to throw the damn machine across the room! At least I did/do. Auria Pro is FAR more LOGICAL! Your design and work is much appreciated, and thrilled you're back on it. Maybe figure out the numbers you need to make it worth your while and ask in here who would do what to pay you your due?
Re: Auria update
Yes it is indeed much improved! Glitchy stuttering is gone! Loading is much quicker! Thank You!
