Saving to Dropbox
Saving to Dropbox
I am trying to clear up space on my iPad Pro and save my unused projects to Dropbox. It doesn’t seem to work on a consistent basis. I can change my dropbox location in the menu but after it uploads the files there is a screen that pops up and says error. Sometimes this happens before it starts to upload. It doesn’t do this all the time. I don’t know if I am doing something wrong or it is acting funny. I have tried changing Dropbox accounts and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. What could be the problem?

Does the error message state anything specific?
Try instead using the Apple Files App. You can access your Auria documents folder by going to 'On My iPad'> Auria
Tap the 'select' button in the upper right and tap to select the projects you would like to move.
Once selected, tap on 'Move' from the bottom of the screen.
You will now see a pop up window, tap on DropBox and then tap on 'Copy' in the upper right.
The transfer could take some time, so make sure to confirm that the projects fully transferred into DropBox.

It doesn’t say anything specific. If I hit delete the extra stuff in settings and reload Dropbox in settings. Close auria and quit it. Restart and reload Dropbox it tells me there was an error with the data and was corrected it will then work. It doesn’t do it all the time. How do I find the files you are talking about? Do I doa save with another app and then select files? When I do that it creates a zip file and asks where I would like to save it but it won’t let me select dropbox as a place to save.

Let me know if this helps...
Re: Saving to Dropbox
The step by step was right on the money thank. I made it to the last step and I got this message: what do you suggest?

That error message, I have never seen before. Let me do a little research to see if I can turn up any clues.

Hey Corey, this is the error message I get when I try and use save to Dropbox menu item. It doesn’t do it all the time. About 75% at least. Hopefully, it is something I am doing wrong or overlooking.

Re: Saving to Dropbox
Is it by chance something simple, like you don't have enough space in your DropBox account?
Re: Saving to Dropbox
I wish it was. I just made this dropbox account. There is nothing in it. I have tried various different dropbox accounts and different songs and I get the same messages. Could it be the files are to big to transfer over? A glitch in my internet service?

Re: Saving to Dropbox
Would there be a way in the future to easily save and import from google drive like we currently have with dropbox? I really hate using dropbox and having to pay for extra space. Just a thought.
Re: Saving to Dropbox
Hey Corey. I was able to create a backup copy and save to another file. I saved to google drive. I don’t know what to do with it from there but I have a zip file if one if the tunes. I have to upgrade mynicloud for more space to see if I can save a copy their and then do something with it. I tried changing the name of the song this time but I still got the same error messages when I saved to Dropbox or used the files, move, and copy trick. Could there be something wrong with those songs? Is there a way to run a repair on them in auria?

Re: Saving to Dropbox
Hey Corey, I was able to save to my files folder on iCloud and the transfer with the method you showed me to dropbox. Everything was in a zip file. Do I need to put that on a computer to get it to work? I am going to try to put it directly to Dropbox. Drive is pretty cool too it 15gb to store files. I didn’t know we had that. I might use that too.

Re: Saving to Dropbox
For zipped files on iOS, I personally use an app called iZip to remove the step of transferring to a Mac/PC to unzip and then back to iOS. The iZip app shows up in the Apple Files App under 'On My iPad' so transfers between apps are really easy.
Re: Saving to Dropbox
Thanks Corey, I have iZip pro but never could figure out where the files went. You just helped me figure that out too. I used it on one of the files and it worked great. I noticed, that I get that same error message I sent you when I tried using GarageBand today. Could it be an iOS error? It seems to be all over not just with Auria Pro. Maybe it is a dropbox issue. I don’t know I am just throwing ideas out there. I do love Auria Pro, it is an awesome program.
