Mis-triggering solutions

Post by dtrider »

I am wondering what the best strategy is for mis-triggering. If I have dialed in my filter and sensitivity and still get some occasional mis triggering. When I automate sensitivity it seems to work but i think it messes with the dynamics during that part. So far it has only been an issue on particularly noisy tracks or tracks with lots of transients in a row, etc.

Just wondering what people do. Maybe I'm not using it right?

Well i would first try to remove as much noice from the track as possible. Copy/paste the track and leave the original as it is. Now use noise gate, EQ or what ever you come up with to remove everything else except the sound you want to trigger.
If it is still not good, try to work with small parts of the track in time. Loud part separetly etc.

This is how i do. I hope that helps. :D
