Inaccurate snare auto-align

Post by medievil »

When triggering a snare drum track in advanced mode and using auto align, I've noticed that the snare drum alignment isn't completely accurate... after accounting for the latency, some snare samples will be very tight with the front of the played snares, while some may be late by anywhere between 1-6 ms, creating an audible flam.

Do you guys switch off auto align for snares that are clean and fronty enough to trigger well? As a comparison, using tab-to-transient in PT detects the front of each snare hit pretty much flawlessly. If the snare samples were aligned to *those* detection points the alignment would be amazing.

I find advanced mode more sloppy than Simple mode.

Don't know why :|

If I find any flamming at all going on, I always reduce the triggering towards simple (75% of max) and turn off auto-align. Also, look into your sensitivity and try messing with that a bit.
