Replacing 808 sounds - not consistent

Post by hume »

I'm trying to replace 808 sounds in a rap song I'm mixing. Triggering from a new kik I just replaced, and very quickly and accurately I might add, thanks to Drumagog. But The replaced 808 is real inconsistent in vol. It actuallly sounds different than the original sample too. The sound swells to it's loudest about 80 to 100 mls after inital attack.

I was wondering if there was a way to make it monophonic as you can on an mpc. Normally when programing a beat on an mp3 you set 808s to mono so they don't ring into each other. I think this may be happening in Drumagog and is causing overlapping samples to phase, thus swelling or diminishing the volume.

Yes, that's exactly right. You can set the polyphony setting to "Cym". This causes Drumagog to only play one sample at a time, not overlaping samples like the default. You can set this in the advanced page under "polyphony".
