Topic Split - Sonar 8

Post by voigty »

Unfortunately I have already installed the latest update with no change to being seen in Sonar 8.5. Have also contacted Cakewalk and awaiting reply from them. Cheers

Hello,

What trouble are you having with Drumagog 5 in Sonar 8.5?

There were no fixes in this update regarding Sonar specifically, however any version of Drumagog 5 should show up in Sonar.

Sorry, I just noticed your post on the other thread.

Sounds like you just need to edit your VST plugin folder setting. You can find all the necessary tools in the Cakewalk Plugin Manager. Some users have reported having a need to force Sonar to rescan for plugins after installing Drumagog for it show up.

I have had both versions 4 and 5 of Drumagog running with both SONAR 8.5 and X1a 32 and 64 bit. The key to making it work is definately making sure SONAR does a proper vst scan and finds the .dll file for Drumagog.

Also, the SONAR 32 bit to 64 bit wrapper (Bitbridge) doesn't seem to work well with either version of Drumagog when searching for file directories or making adjustments to the plugin itself in the 64 bit version of SONAR. However I have been able to use a third party wrapper called jBridge found here:

This works much better overall than Bitbridge, plus the developer is constantly updating it. Download the demo and try it.

Yep, we definitely like jBridge around here.

I should clarify as well. I purchased version 5 with challenge response, not iLock. When I did my initial vst scan in SONAR it was in the 32 bit version of X1a. During the scan it prompted me to activate (which I did) online. I pasted in the code and it completed the scan. I have had no issues since.

PS Plug-in hosting is Da Bomb!

Lot better than Bitbridge.
Fully agree on that.
