Drumagog 4.11a / Windows 7 64 bit / ProTools HD Accel 2

Post by s0nguy »

All,

Just letting everyone know my experience installing Drumagog on your Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit in case anyone faces that same issues I did.

Install went fine... it was the authorization that failed. Kept saying "can't load favorites.dat" and wouldnt let me authorize it... it was locked in demo mode. All I did was close ProTools, then navigate to c:\program files (x86)\drumagog. Right click and select "properties" . go to the security tab and make sure that your normal users, not just admins have full control of the folder.

tried it again and it auth'd with no problem. Now it just threw up a message saying it couldn't load a sample... Looking into that now

thanks

There seems to be a problem with Drumagog remembering changes to my samples folder. i edited the irunin.dat file to reflect where my samples reside... but it seems to have no effect.

Support, can you chime in here?

thanks

What is exactly happening when it doesn't remember changes to your sample folder? Do you mean that you have your samples in a custom location but Drumagog's setting doesn't remember it? Or does Drumagog remember the Gog Files folder location but reset the specific Gog File you select?

The permissions/security issue isn't necessarily Windows 7 specific, if the user account in any OS doesn't have permission to access the needed folder there will be issues. Running from an administrator-level account usually avoids these problems, but manually editing the folder permission works as well.

yes... i installed BFD2 this evening and noticed it was crashing PT when i tried to change the sample foler location... I ran it in admin mode and all was well. I suspect that drumagog will work now as well but i didnt test it.. will test tomorrow.
