Drumagog 5.1 Update

Post by Jack »

WaveMachine Labs is pleased to announce a major update: Drumagog 5.1. This is a FREE update for all Drumagog 5 owners. Drumagog 5.1 contains both new features and a number of bug fixes, including the all-new BLEED REDUCTION feature.

New Features:
- Bleed Reduction feature allows Drumagog 5 to eliminate other drums from bleeding into a track and adding unwanted triggering. Simply setup Drumagog on each affected track and it will automatically remove the bleed. Check out Bleed Reduction in action here:
http://youtu.be/-WpQtc8NGqM?hd=1
- Added a “DIRECT” fader when using GOG files with room sounds

- Added ability to save a GOG file copy with a new name
- Added Over 2 GB of samples to free library. Now includes the entire Rock Drums 3 and Ultra Drums libraries from Farview Recording. Free library is now nearly 7 GB total.

Should we uninstall existing versions before running the updated version, or just install "over the top"?

This should certainly not happen if you authorized Drumagog 5 with an iLok license.

We have had some users, who previously authorized using Challenge/Response, need to go through with the new License Files authorization process once they installed the 5.1 update. Here are instructions:

License Files Authorization

If you do not own an iLok (or otherwise prefer not to use one),
Drumagog 5 can be unlocked via a License File system.

Once a customer has either purchased Drumagog 5 through
www.drumagog.com, or registered a retail copy purchased through a store, a special License File page will be accessible through the
My Account section of www.drumagog.com.

The first-time Drumagog 5 is opened without an iLok present (or
with an iLok present without a valid Drumagog 5 license) a
window will appear on-screen.

Press the “AUTHORIZE” button to continue. On the next screen,
UNCHECK the “USE ILOK” box and press NEXT to continue.

The next window will present the License File section:
Drumagog 5 will present a button to SAVE LICENSE REQUEST.
Click this button to create a License Request File that will be
saved to your system. Take note of where the file is saved, so you
can browse to it in a few moments.

Browse to drumagog.com and visit the “My Account” section (by
logging-in through the upper-right hand corner). Your copy of
Drumagog will appear in the list of registered products, and will
include an “AUTHORIZE THIS PRODUCT” link. You will then
be given a choice to authorize via iLok or License File. Select
License File to bring up the following page.

Click the CHOOSE FILE button to upload your saved License
Request File to the server. Click the AUTHORIZE button. After a
slight pause while the drumagog.com website contacts the
PACE/iLok servers, a License Response File will be generated and
you will see an “OK” message. Click the link below the message
to download the License Response File. Back in Drumagog, click
the READ LICENSE button. Select the License Response File that
was saved to your system to complete the License File
authorization process.

Hello,

Thanks for your recent purchase of Drumagog 5.1. If you are only seeing the Dynamic Tracking and Hand Timing faders, this likely means you are using Drumagog 5 Basic. Is this the version you purchased? If so, Basic only uses Advanced Triggering mode and does not come with Live Triggering mode. However, Advanced mode is the most accurate and you should not switch to Live Triggering mode if it is just a latency issue.

The latency issue can be caused by using an audio program without plugin delay compensation, such as Pro Tools 8 LE (or earlier), which has no delay compensation. A workaround for this is to shift the track 80 ms (the default latency setting in Drumagog 5) earlier. The newly released Pro Tools 9 includes built-in delay compensations (like every other product on the market), to eliminate the steps of bouncing and adjusting the track. So you could also upgrade to PT9.

As for the sample library files, you need to unzip them in order to use them first. Then, you can access them from anywhere on your system through the built-in File Browser in Drumagog 5. The default location to save the samples in is the GOG Files folder in the Drumagog 5 folder. You'll need to move your GOG files in your system's browser (not inside Drumagog).

Cheers,
Jack

Thanks for pointing that out to us. The text for the Pre-ordered downloadables was not updated. However, if you had downloaded it would have been the 5.11 update. The text on the links has now been updated :)

Just installed 5.11 update and tried using bleed reduction. Watched the video and followed all the steps. When I use it I get no signal from the receiving (snare) channel. When I turn off bleed reduction feature signal comes back and drumagog functions fine. Anyone else having issues with bleed reduction in pro tools?

System specs:

DAW: Pro Tools HD 8.1cs2
System: Mac Pro 2 x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 16 GB RAM / OS X 10.6.6

Hello,

Can you describe the steps that you took to set up Drumagog's Bleed Reduction? What tracks are you sending the signal to the receiving (snare) track?

Cheers,
Jack

Does Update Allow An Easier Registration Option ?

Post by jeffv »

I Purchased Drumagog lastnight in hopes I could use it over the weekend. I have been very frustrated about the entire Authorization. I also didnt receive a receipt acknowledging that I had made a purchase. I Downloaded multi iLok drivers and helper programs still I lost as to how to register the program. Are there any other options I have to register my program? Or where can I find the answer (response) to the Authorize Question? Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jeff

Hello,

Drumagog should be compatible with ProTools10, we haven't had any trouble running it. Usually a consistent crashing can be solved by trashing ProTools Preferences, so see if that does the trick.

Best,
