I don't mean to discourage any adventures into sound... But why do you want a 'stereo' snare? It's basically a mono instrument. Sure you could have a top and bottom sound for more control. But, how do we 'hear' a snare? Any 'stereo' would be from the sound of the room. I do as you do (mic and ddrum ...

You probably don't really need to.

Anything below the horizontal line won't trigger the Gogs or send MIDI out. So it is actual a gate.

" tried it with the td-20 via midi w BFD and had some success. But, the midi info seemed to be lacking. not much sensitivity and not as real feeling as the td-20." Out-of-the-box, BFD won't 'react' as you've discovered. You'll need to dig into BFD and 'tweak' the sensitivity curves. The h...

That's the rest of the 'sound' - snares rattling, head ring, other drums rattling/ringing, room, etc.

If you are looking for less 'stuff' put a gate before Drumagog.

If you had the entire kit playing, you'd see even more 'stuff'.

But I think you said all that.

It's a VERY costly library ($1795 & $895)! I think one would be 'better' off with BFD2 (very good expansion packs)/DFHS/Larry Seyer for lot less! The demo didn't sound any better ($1795?) than lots of other libraries for FAR less to me. But to answer your question, yes Drumagog should be able to...

Since Drumagog needs to 'see' audio to work, is there a possibility that the original audio is being muted at the point where Drumagog stops?

I don't use Logic so this is the best I can come up with.

I've been spending some time with Drumagog and BFD2. It's working just fine. At this point I'm simply directing a MIDI note over to BFD2 and it seems to work (maybe) better than it did with BFD1. I say 'maybe' because it's been a while since I did it this way (via MIDI) because I've been using Druma...

Ah, audio...

You should be able to nudge +/- an increment as small as a single sample.

Believe it or not, I'm STILL using Pro Tools 5. Anyways, are you trying to offset MIDI or audio? If it's MIDI, there should be a 'MIDI Offset' window that you can open -- there is in PT5. The easiest way to calculate the offset is to record a track of the NEW/REPLACED audio. Then, zoom in and measur...

If you simply want to do a 100% kick replacement, the quality of the mic isn't a real issue. All Drumagog needs to see is an audio input. Try a 57 and observe the result. I tried this and it worked. http://images.guitarcenter.com/products/full/Nady/632866123770178874.jpg Guitar Center Special: Nady ...
