hi-hat decay

How does Drumagog handle hats in this instance: Does a hat sample continue to ring out when the next sample begins or is it cut off? How do real life hats work, for that matter? If you have a close-mic’d hat, do prior hits ring out when another is struck or does the next hit effectively deaden the ...

Re: Drumagog crash cymbal waveform question

Ok thanks. Do I need Platinum to try that? I have Pro.

It’s not a huge deal. Most of the time the cymbals are played at one volume – loud! It’s just occasionally I’ve got some cymbals that run the gamut of softly-hit to very loud.

Re: Drumagog crash cymbal waveform question

Corey, thanks for the reply. I’ve been able to isolate the crash cymbals pretty well so far and Drumagog is able to detect them, so that’s not really the issue. In the example above I wanted the first 4 hits to trigger samples from the middle dynamic group, then the last hit (which was hit harder an...

Drumagog crash cymbal waveform question

Drumagog detects that the transients of my mic’d crash cymbals occur before the peak of the waveform (picture #1). So it’s triggering samples that output at about the same volume, despite the fact that the original recorded hits have peaks that vary quite a bit in volume. As a result, Drumagog pret...

Other cowbells?

Anyone know where I can get some good cowbell gogs? I want one that has a brighter tone than the one that came with Drumagog. Thanks!

Hand groups for snares

I’ve got another question:

Some snare gog files won’t allow the ‘use left/right hand’ button to be enabled, despite the fact that in the Samples window I can use the hand arrows to change each sample to ‘left’ or ‘right.’ Is it the case that only some of the snare gog files allow hand groups?

Re: Multisamples?

Think I answered part of my own question. Upon trying this out for myself, I’m guessing these are probably not meant to be stacked in the fashion I mentioned above. If multiple instances of Drumagog are run on multiple copies of the same drum track, they sometimes trigger at slightly different times...

Re: Multisamples?

All right, thanks. The prospect of being able to create you own multisamples is pretty cool. I notice with some sets of samples that there are for example “raw” ones and “ambient” ones. Are these the ‘do-it-yourself’ versions of having multisamples? For example, in the RD3Snares folder there’s a set...

Multisamples?

I recently bought Drumagog 5 Pro and I might be asking a few newbie questions over the next few weeks. I apologize ahead of time. It seems like only a small percentage of the samples allow you to utilize the OH, St. Room, and Direct faders. Is that normal or am I missing something? I was assuming al...
