Hi guys
I am using the simple Focusrite iTrack to be the hardware interface to my iPad Mini.
A few dummy runs have worked fine.
Just as a double check, do I need to think about turning off the iPad mic... and if so, is there a way to ensure that the mic of the iPad is off and does not accidentally get mixed into the Auria recording?
Thanks

If it is not shown in your input matrix then you don't have to worry about it. I also think the mic isn't available once you've attached a USB interface. Not sure about that one though.

Re: Ensuring no input from iPad mic etc
I have an 'Apogee MiC' as soon as I plug it in, it turns itself on and mutes my iPad's built-in mic.
However be careful/mindful of the connections, as I recorded a passage not realising the cable on the 'MiC' had come loose.
It recorded fine, and I was watching the record levels constantly.
Problem was it was recording via the built-in mic. Glad it was only a short piece. But be mindful.
Also it was one of the best recordings I have ever done! hehe. But not usable, as the Apogee MiC' mic, is way ahead in quality to the iPads mic..
Added: this reminds me "Need longer cable for Apogee MiC" ... haha

Re: Ensuring no input from iPad mic etc
I would like to see a lightning cable with the connector at 90°. Might make it stay in place better.

Hey @martygras, I have also dreamt of this, it would also be good for iPad holding in general..martygras wrote:I would like to see a lightning cable with the connector at 90°. Might make it stay in place better.

Re: Ensuring no input from iPad mic etc
Thank you both, that's very helpful. I've checked the Matrix and no sign of Mic input..
.. but, perhaps I should have taken the green pill.....

I accidentally moved it while testing a week or so ago and heard the speaker so I was aware. So yes you are right about watching out.
Thanks
