Mixdown conundrum

Post by ajmack302 » Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:33 am

Hey guys, bit of a head-scratcher here. I was trying to mixdown an 18 track song and export to a new track (as in the mixdown menu). When I did this the bar filled up then Auria crashes, I've tried it a couple of times with the same result, then I tried mixdown and export to SoundCloud and this worked with no problem, can't think of a reason why it won't mixdown to a new track though. Any ideas?

Thanks

Aaron

Interesting. Can you send me the project? I'd like to take a look here and see what the problem might be. You can zip the project and send it to: rim at drumagog (dot com) using dropbox.

Thanks,
Rim

Hi Rim, I'll send you the project at the weekend if I can't figure a solution. Can you give me a step-by-step method of sending my project from my laptop? (I'm not especially computer savvy!!)

Thanks

Aaron

Sure, just download a free copy of iFunBox if you're using a mac, otherwise iExplorer if you're using a PC. These programs let you access your iPad's files easily. Just click on Auria in the list of apps, go to Documents, and find your project. Copy it to your computer by just dragging it to your desktop, then zip the entire project (right click and choose compress). Then, go to dropbox.com and upload the file to your account, then share it with me. Please let me know if you need any more info on any of these steps.

Thanks again,
Rim

Hey Rim,

On further investigation I've found that the attempted "mixdown to a new track" tracks that caused crashes are all alive and well in the project folder/import audio screen. So that's cool. Still doesn't explain why they didn't export to a new track or why the SoundCloud export worked ok, would you still like me to send you the project so you can have a look around?

Thanks,

Aaron

Yes, I would love to get that project. These help me find rare and obscure bugs like this.

Thanks,

FYI, thanks to your project, I've found the bug and fixed it. It was pretty obscure - if you delete a frozen track, and that frozen track happens to be the last track in the project, it will cause issues during mixdown, and also cause the subgroup plugins on Sub1 to be inaccessible.

Thanks for the help!

When something in the bug thread says "fixed", it means I've fixed that particular bug, and it's in the version that's going to go to Apple soon. At this point, we're testing the update, and I should send it to Apple in the next couple of days if everything goes smoothly and there are no issues. Once Apple has it, they usually take a week or two to review it before they make it live.
