The Animoog packs add more wavetables. So,they expand what you can do. The Minimoog patches are nice if your preference is using presets.

I like using presets. Are there any expansion packs better than one another, or should I just think of getting all of them?

Re: Best app for creating ambience or pad sounds?
I am not really sure. I am mostly a program my own kind of person and the MiniMoog is something that I spent a lot of time with. So, I haven't picked any of them up. I do have a lot of the Moog Model 15 presets and based on the quality of them and the Animoog presets, I would guess that they quality is quite good.

The model 15 looks difficult to use, is it? I thought about that one but the chords look confusing. The model d is easy to use. I have to play with the Animoog and check it out.

I got model 15, it has some pretty cool sounds in it. You have some great ideas. Any other keyboard apps I should check out?

There are so many! There is a lot of buzz about Continua from Audio Damage which was released today. I don't have it.
Shockwave is a recent and interesting synth that uses phase-distortion synthesis.
Lagrange is another well regarded synth that I don't have. I have their Kronecker and Mersenne synths. There are some good YouTube vids that I'd check out before purchasing. They are not everyone's cup of tea.

Re: Best app for creating ambience or pad sounds?
I can recommend Sugar Bytes Factory and IceGear Lagrange for those kinds of sounds, I've made some free preset packs for both these synths:
Oscillating Echoes - 20 free Ambient and Lo-Fi presets for Sugar Bytes Factory
New Adventures in Lo-Fi - 25 ambient and lo-fi presets for Icegear Lagrange
There are also a couple of really promising upcoming apps: Continua by Audio Damage and Monoke by Brambos

Thank you guys for all of your help building my arsenal. I just got Lagrange, dm-1, continua, and factory.
Thank you for all of the presets for factory and Lagrange. They are awesome sounding.
I have a little money left so I am going to find a few more to get. If you have any more ideas let me know.

It was a typo on my part. It should have been the d1. Sorry about that. I just downloaded poison 202. Pretty cool. I am looking at Kylegrand pads. Any ideas on that one?
