Mixing down to m4a generally gives me a file size of anything between 6mb and 9mb with the type of mixes I am doing. Now, when I export into Audioshare and perform a trim - no matter how big or small the trim, the size drops to about half the original size.
Any one know why that is?

Re: File Size
It's a lossy file and AS has to re-encode after the trim. Better to export as a lossless and convert to lossy format after the trim.

Thanks for the response. Its probably ok to just use AS as a medium for transferring the file as long as there is no opening/trimming involved otherwise keep to WAV I guess.
