Automate vintage synth with sysex? (Juno-106)

Post by gburks » Mon Apr 11, 2016 2:03 pm

Hi, is it possible to record the sysex that is generated by my Roland Juno-106 when I wiggle a slider, and play it back? Even better, is it possible to create an automation lane and draw automation envelopes that would control the Juno's sysex?

Yes, Auria Pro allows you to record controller information and play it back. It also allows you to draw controllers on the screen with your finger, or edit controller data you made by moving the sliders on your keyboard.

Good news, AP does record the sysex from my Roland Juno 106. However I don't see any way to visualize those movements. To be honest I was really going to be surprised if that worked. It spits out a several bytes long sysex message for every control change. Do you think there is a way to draw that?

There's no way to edit or draw sysex info in Auria. It would just be too complex of a feature to add at the moment unfortunately.
