anyone happen to know if this new unit by Zoom can record onto an ipad with all 8 ins?
https://www.zoom.co.jp/products/handy-r ... d-recorder
It appears to be USB 2.0 class compliant and not need drivers for a Mac which means in theory it would work, but this is not always the case so direct experience would be very useful.
Great combination, field recorder (8 mics, battery powered), ipad & Auria

Re: the NEW Zoom F8 field recorder
I think it works with Auria, as H6. Core Audio means the same data handling behavior without dedicated driver.
IOS has no built in multi channel audio handling, but AURIA has it. Zoom can't guarantee the multitrack because it is depending on the 3rd party app's feature and built in driver API. My question is only the 4 out in Auria

Re: the NEW Zoom F8 field recorder
I had this reply from Zoom support:
"Hello Michael,
You can use the F8 with an iPad but only in stereo mix mode, see our website:
“iPad audio interface operation supported (Stereo Mix mode only)”
Many thanks,
Sam"
so it looks like no, not for all 8 outputs. However, there maybe some hope in that it could be a software firmware update in the future.

Re: the NEW Zoom F8 field recorder
About the same answer in case of H6.
I am a bit skeptical.

Re: the NEW Zoom F8 field recorder
I'm hoping the support guy is just giving the 'safe' answer and that in fact it is able to record all 8 channels into Auria.
Not sure how I'm going to get this info until someone on some forum asks the same question to someone who's got one and can try it out.

Re: the NEW Zoom F8 field recorder
anyone had a chance to try the F8 with Auria now that it's out?
