Insert Effects
Insert Effects
Why are there 2 sets of every effect (mono) or (mono/stereo). Which one should be used or does it matter?
Re: Insert Effects
If you're using the effect on a mono track, you want to use the mono version, if you're using stereo tracks in Auria you want to use the stereo version. Simple
Re: Insert Effects
If you use the mono>stereo version on a mono track, it will convert the output of that track to stereo, IIRC.
Someone please correct me if that's a brain fart.

Re: Insert Effects
The mono/stereo options were confusing me.
Re: Insert Effects
From page 41 of the manual:
Note: Each plug-in includes both mono and stereo versions, and depending on the track type one or both might be available. This way it is possible to insert a stereo effect onto a mono track as the channel will then output in stereo (while the pan knob will still be in mono operation).

Re: Insert Effects
The last statement is a little confusing to me still. So the mono track is still mono, even after using a stereo effect?MrNezumi wrote:From page 41 of the manual:

Re: Insert Effects
A good example of when you'd use a stereo effect on a mono track is using the delay to create a stereo echo (eg ping pong echo)
Re: Insert Effects
I agree Checkrath. It's just the pan statement is confusing to me.
"This way it is possible to insert a stereo effect onto a mono track as the channel will then output in stereo (while the pan knob will still be in mono operation)."
Maybe it would help me to see a flow diagram if one existed, but I'll have to try out some weird tests just for fun.

Re: Insert Effects
@martygras Ahh, sorry. Missed that bit. Ok, I'm also confused now

From page 44 of the manual:
The pan pot controls the channel audio’s position in the stereo field. Its behavior will depend on whether the channel contains either mono or stereo audio:
Mono – Pans the mono audio across the stereo spectrum, from full left-center-full right.
Includes selectable pan laws in the Settings menu.
Stereo – Adjusts the relative balance of the stereo audio’s left channel versus the right channel.
