Audiobus vsl 1818
Audiobus vsl 1818
Hello,
When using audiobus with presonus vsl 1818 ! Only the left channel of Audiobus strem is monitored and record, whatever the source of Audiobus is I noice this problem.
I'm using Auria version 1.09 on iPad 2 with IOS version 6.1.3.
Can you confirm the bug.
Thanks.
Jean-Eric

Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
This can happen if you try to use Audiobus with a mono track. Are you sure the track you're recording onto is a stereo track?

Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
Non unfortunately it's a stereo tracks, only the left waveform is drawn the right part show no waveform.
Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
OK, thanks. Can you verify that this only happens when using the 1818?

Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
First thanks a lot for your help.
I've investigate a bit more on the problem and it' s more tricky than I first thought.
Yes the problem only occur when using the audiobox.
I' ve tested and record the Bebot synth thru Audiobus without the Presonus.
The recorded track shown both left and right waveform on the Auria timeline
Then I've connected the Presonus Audiobox and record again on the same track, this time only the left audio channel is feeded and so only the upper waveform is filled of audio data.
I then replace Bebot with Bassline and the problem happens.
But I 've also try with Propellerheads figure and then stereo works within Auria.
Hope it'll help to figure out where the problem is.
Best regards.
Jean-Eric

Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
I had a closer look to the problem it seem that it is an Audiobus only problem.
Even without using Auria some plugin are only on left channel when using Audiobus.
Sorry I made you lose your time.
on an other hand I had a lot of crash and clock cracking and artifact when using adat out on the Presonus .
As Auria is the only software I know, able to use Adat output of the VSL I can't say if it's an Auria only problem, or if it is the Apple driver that cause the audio crackle, or even it is because The iPad 2 is not powerful enough.
Did you experience the same, Can you give me some clue
Anyway thanks for your continued help

Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
OK, thanks. It's on my list to take a look at. I'll see if it's something in the way I'm handling audiobus inputs when a USB interface is plugged in.
As far as the crackling when using the adat interface with the 1818, I believe you need to plug in both optical cables, as the 1818 needs a clock from the adat interface. Others might want to chime in to confirm if this is correct.

Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
I ran into this a few times yesterday myself, not even using an external interface. When using Auria in Audiobus, sometimes only the left channel of any synth is heard or recorded, even though the track is stereo. I have to "eject" the synth and Auria from Audiobus, and then reload them, and it will work fine.
Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
This sounds different. In the input matrix, you can choose which audiobus inputs are assigned to which tracks, and it's possible you may have selected only the left channel for an audiobus input?

Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
I never even use the input matrix. Normally launching Auria in Audiobus automatically creates a stereo track with the name of the synth app I'm using. This still happens, but sometimes only the left channel is active, nothing comes out the right channel in my headphones or is recorded in Auria. I'll double check the input matrix next time to see if something is happening there though.
Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
That's pretty odd then. If you notice a pattern to this, let me know. If I let Auria automatically assign the input matrix and add a stereo track, I don't see this problem here.

Re: Audiobus vsl 1818
This appears to be an Audiobus issue. I'll let the Audiobus developers know about it. When I connect a multichannel audio interface (for example an 18 channel one), Audiobus only sends the left channel of input ports to Auria.
