False triggering tricks please!

Post by lydpik »

Hey every one!

I just bough Drumagog so I'm new to this plug in...

I just wonder what you guys do when Drumagog can't detect fast drum rolls e.g. bass drum played with double pedal and fast snare rolls. I thought about using Soundreplacer first to give Drumagog something more stable to work with, but it sure would be nice if it was possible to just use Drumagog.

So what's the trick here? :?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

It's easy to get Drumagog to respond to fast drum rolls and double bass drum pedals. Here are some suggestions:

1. Use Advanced Triggering Mode instead of simple mode. You can set this in the advanced page.
2. Set the resolution control to "Auto".
3. Make sure your sensitivity control is set low enough to pick up all the hits you're interested in (ghost notes, etc.).

Just to add, Don't be afraid to really exaggerate the attack of the original by whatever means (radically set gate, EQ, anything). It helps a lot in cases where you are having trouble getting a single setting that works through the whole song. Just mangle the track so the attacks stand out.
