How do I use the new Drumagog with BFD?
Download the demo. Installed it but cant find a way to BFD2 appear on the Drumagog pluigins. All VSTi appears. No Drumagog.
Something I missing?
If this works great I'll definitive go for it.
Cheers

Re: Drumagog and BFD
Did you perform the plugin scanning from within D5 Platinum?
BFD2 should appear after scanning is completed.

meehh.... i wish they would have left it the way it was.. this sounds messy
at least with BDF. which is sort of priority. i'll give it a go. if i can ever get past the scan phase. geez
other than that 5 its quite nice so far

Re: Drumagog and BFD
Hello,
How Drumagog 5 works with BFD has changed. It now works through the Plugin Hosting function. To use BFD, or any other virtual instrument with Drumagog 5, you load an instance of BFD into the Plugin Hosting section of Drumagog 5. That is done by switching to the Plugin tab. The first time you do this, Drumagog 5 will need to scan your installed VST instruments. So go ahead and click Scan. Once that's done, BFD should appear in the drop-down list of available virtual instruments. From there, load the desired drum sound into BFD. Assign midi note and channel as needed, and Drumagog 5 will begin automatically triggering that sounds in BFD.
The main reason why we implemented the new system was that we needed a way to open up the "BFD-type" of support in D4 platinum, so that users of other VST instruments could do the same sort of thing. Also, this system doesn't rely on the other plugin having custom code for Drumagog built in.

There is a workaround you can use here.cirrusboy7@gmail.com wrote:meehh.... i wish they would have left it the way it was.. this sounds messy

The plugin hosting only works with VSTi, so try this:
1 - Move all VST Plugins from the shared folder to somewhere else (I created a folder called "disabled" in C:\Program Files\Steinberg).
On PC XP, this is located at C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTplugins.
2 - Create a subfolder in the shared plugins folder called D5 or similar
3 - Launch the host, and insert a drumagog.
4 - Scan plugins - there are none at this point so it happens FAST.
5 - Point D5 to the folder you created earlier - in my case, this is
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTplugins\D5
6 - Close the host.
7 - Copy into the D5 subfolder any VSTi you want enabled in D5.
(In my case, this is BFD2, Drumkit from hell, Stormdrum Intakt, Stormdrum Kompakt, Battery 2 and Kontakt.
8 - Put all your other plugins back where they came from
9 - Relaunch the host, and load up a drumagog.
10 - Now do another scan for plugins pointing at the new folder.
This will enable all the drum VSTi, and you can then work as usual.,
This works - I have done it.
