Triggering BFD and using UAD-1 Plugins

Post by neilwilkes »

I am getting an odd issue here.
I am about to reinstall Drumagog though, just in case.....

Set up the Drumagogs, normal version.
Set up the BFD2 triggers.
Set BFD2 to return to separate channels for better control.
Add UAD-1 Neve 88RS plugin to, say, Kick In channel.
Same plugin to Kick Out channel.
Timing goes to hell as if the PDC is not being correctly calculated.
Should I be using the Fixed Latency version?? Nuendo does have full PDC....
Nuendo 5, 5.5 & 6 and Cubase 6,7 & 7.5 with WK-ID Controller.
Fully 64-bit Intel Xeon E5-2687W 8-Core CPU with 32GB Quad Channel RAM
Adam A7 x 5, RME RayDAT 1 into 2 RME ADI-8 DS, Tascam DA-88 to RME ADI-8.

Yes, you need to use Fixed Latency for the Delay Compensation to work correctly. The non-Fixed Latency version can have it's latency adjusted, which throws off host applications that don't keep polling plugins for latency changes.

The non-Fixed Latency version is for hosts like Pro Tools LE, which don't have compensation, or for occasions (like triggering live) when operating Drumagog in low latency (using simple mode), when you'll need your host to constrain delay compensation.
