Plugin Scanning - spurious error messages

Post by neilwilkes »

Still running the plugin scan here - and it seems to be going okay.
2 plugins have thrown a strange error though, and I have no idea why this should be.
1 - Groove Agent 3.
"Please ensure that this has been correctly installed" and more error codes.
2 - Ampex SVG
Same as above.
(Not that I am interested in using these plugins with D5, but hey ho!)

This was 10 minutes ago, and activity seems to have stopped, yet D5 is still saying "scanning".......
The whole system seems to have frozen solid.

It just happened again.
Different plugin, same error.
Same result - hung system, forced reboot needed.

This plugin scanning is a nightmare.

Neil,

Thanks, I'll pass this on to Angus. Some plugins definitely do cause problems for Drumagog's plugin scanning. Luckily it's not anything people actually use (BFD, Superior, Battery, Kontakt), but I agree it's annoying getting it set up the first time.

We'll get this all sorted out in a future update.

Thanks,
Rim

Thanks Rim.
I will also be putting a list of affected plugins together that trigger issues on my systems for you.

Hi Neil

I see your running Nuendo 4 as am I, I recently posted a problem with DG5 where Ive done all iLok upgrades then did reinstall of DG5 and N4 still doesn't see DG5 in plug-list.
Did you have any issues on first install?

Hey Julius.
Nope - I did not get that issue at all - D5 showed up right from the start.
I have heard from some that it needed to be switched on in the plugin manager though.....
