Poor power chord recording

Post by Peteflynn »

Hi
thanks for the cool app. I'm getting good results from all but the guitar instruments. I'm following all the instructions/suggestions, but the powerchord always comes out horribly modulated - like a bad Lesly effects pedal :(

I'm using a iPhone 3gs.

Also just to take it out of the equation, I'm a good singer so I'm keeping the notes clean and steady.

With or without earphones makes no difference. Either does turning the autotune off/on.

Any ideas?

The best thing to do is turn auto pitch on, and choose the appropriate scale. In other words, if the song is in F Major, set it for F Major. This way, the guitar sound won't waver as much.

For example, in the video on youtube, I set it to F minor.

Thanks,

One more thing - make sure you press the "test" button after you choose a scale. This lets you hear the scale being played, so you know what notes to sing.

...also for some people it helps to remove one ear off the headphones, so you can hear yourself.

Excellent. Thanks for the prompt reply.

I'm going to start using this in class to help my students with compositions. Portable recording. Great stuff

Cheers
