Voice Band for Android

Post by stationBob »

Any chance you guys will be porting the amazing Voice Band to Android any time soon? Us non-iPhone users would love the chance to have a go too, you know! :D

Bob,

It's definitely something we're considering. I think it's pretty likely.

Thanks,

I'm SO hungry to see a 'roid music app that can get past lack of true multitouch and latency issues.. I'm stuck carrying one around would be great if it could join in the portable party somehow..

Heck.. Stereo line in wav recording to SD card would be enough for me.

Add one more future client when ported to Android :)

Voice Band is Brilliant.
Everybody I showed your demo video to agrees with me. The potential of this is mind blowing, especially if creations could later on be easily uploaded online by amateurs for collaborative work and/or and browsed by professionals who could pick things up and commercialize them? Crazy.

This is a #1 killer app for all smart phones and you absolutely should cover the number one and number two markets. That of course means iphones which you launched in as well as the up and comer, Android. The Android market is exploding, so this is a logical and profitable second location for this amazing app to land.

This app is groundbreaking. Essentially a looper with voice midi control. Brilliant! Second best app I've ever seen (one touch wifi hotspot (wireless tether) is the best). I was going to go Maemo OS with my next smartphone, but this app alone is making me strongly consider an Android phone with a snapdragon processor instead. If you release this on Android, I will not only buy it, but I will advocate it, write about it, and generally promote the hell out of it for free. Puhleeze get it to Android ASAP. If you don't, someone else will. I'd rather support the original artists/coders, but I absolutely refuse to be a part of the iphone craze as I have issues with how Apple does business.

The more I think about it, the more I think what you have here is more a platform than a mere app. You could release a "pro" version with more detailed instruments and more overlay channels for phones with the faster (snapdragon) processors and you could sell additional instruments as you create them, allowing the user to create ever more rich and complex compositions via downloadable content. Design excellent social media sharing hooks for the compositions, highlight the best compositions on your site via contests, etc. I do technology forecasting for a living and I know you really have a blockbuster idea here. I can't stress that highly enough. Not to stroke your egos, but as a warning. You will be copied almost immediately. Your best play is to port it to Android (and ultimately Maemo if it sees a rapid uptake curve too) and expand on the concept with enhancements and add-ons as quickly as possible. I hope you have the resources and the foresight to make the most of this fantastic idea before someone else does. Barring that, I hope you can sell the idea and make some bank to someone who can (rockstar, guitar hero, etc). Good luck and great work!

I would absolutely buy this when you release it, and I know quite a few other Android people that would as well (as I've shown them your Tutorial video). Great work on this app, can't wait to see it on my Droid! Got an ETA on development?

Thanks, I appreciate it. All I can say is we're working on it at this point. We'll be making an announcement through the forum and other channels when it's close to release.

Thanks,
