No output from kontakt 4 via drumagog plugin hosting

Post by Donnyten »

Hello

I'm using Reaper 4.

I load the plugin within drumagog, and i hear nothing, none of the samples are being trigged in kontakt 4. The mix slider is all the way to the right (plugin) and I have tried a few different midi note options within drumagog and I still hear nothing. I only hear drumagog if there's an actual gog file loaded.

What gives?

Thanks

Donnyten,

We are sorry that you are experiencing trouble with triggering in Drumagog's Plugin Hosting. MIDI Note is usually the first thing to check, as it varies between different programs. Is there any signal going into Kontakt?

Check out the tutorial for Plugin Hosting video and in our updated manual to check your steps:

Drumagog is normally designed around having a GOG file loaded. You should try loading a GOG file, keeping the Blend in the Main Mixer all the way to the right (Drumagog) and the Blend in the Plugins Mixer all the way to Konakt.

What is your default GOG folder? Usually Drumagog loads with a GOG file each time.

What is the MIDI Note and MIDI Channel of the Kontakt Drumkit that you are trying to use?

I load an instance of drumagog on a track.

a gog file comes preloaded..

i play back the audio recording track, i can hear drumagog in action..

i click on the plugins tab within drumagog.. select "Kontakt 4" from the drop down.. the midi channel is 1, which is the default midi channel of the instrument instance within kontakt, my snare is A1, i choose the midi note A1 option in drumagog.. at this point, the slider is all the way to the left "Drumagog" i slide it all the way to the right "Plugin", I hear nothing.

Same with Battery 3, nothing

After doing some reading on the Native Instruments websites, it sounds like Kontakt and Battery use a MIDI Note numbering system that is 2 octaves different from Drumagog's (which uses the same system as Cubase).

So if your MIDI Note is supposed to be A1, then try A-1 or A3.

I found out what the problem was..

Kontakt wasn't being triggered because drumagog was in "live" mode..

so when i switched to advanced... it played back via kontakt!

but, now that its in advanced mode, i switched back to live mode, and... i tried trigger soem kontakt samples in real time via drumagog, and it simply doesnt work..

is this normal?

Plugin Hosting should work in Live Triggering mode. An older update of Drumagog 5 had some issues, but this was fixed in the 5.1 update. Are you running the 5.11 update? Check in the Setting section.
